Perfect for babies and growing children - with its core of natural rubber latex (tapped from rubber trees) this mattress provides medium support for newborns and older babies. Layers of organic coir, organic lambswool and a cotton cover make this a seriously comfy mattress, while the latex at its heart means it’s very breathable – ideal for keeping babies temperature just so on warmer nights. The latex forms a springy core and is sandwiched between layers of organic coir for extra support, which is then wrapped in anti-dust mite lambswool. The Latex mat offers more support than the Coco Mat and is ideal for cots, cot beds and single beds. The mattress is filled with organic coir from the only certified plantation in the world. Coir is made from coconut. It has excellent temperature regulating qualities to prevent your baby from overheating. The gentle spring of the coir is surrounded by plenty of organic lambswool with natural anti-dust mite protection. This helps with insulation and provides a soft tufting to the top of the mattress. The mattress has a removable outer cover with a zip at one end. The mattress cover is made from 100% unbleached natural cotton herringbone fabric. The inner cover is made from the same high quality material. Inside the inner cover is a layer of lambswool tufting, which is naturally fire retardant, anti dust-mite and an excellent thermal regulator, ensuring the mattress is cosy in winter and cool in summer. |
Machine washable at 60°C. Do not tumble dry, allow to dry naturally. The organic lambswool comes exclusively from local farms around Devon and Dorset who are certified organic by the Soil Association. The organic lambswool is washed in water from the river Dart. The organic lambswool is bathed in a mixture of essential oils of lavender, lemon and eucalyptus, which renders the mattresses anti-dust mite and gives certified allergy protection. The core of this matress is made from natural latex, tapped from the rubber tree. This forms a springy core sandwiched between layers of Organic Coir (coconut fibre) for extra support and breathability. Do Naturalmat mattresses need to be turned? The mattress fillings are naturally very resilient and durable but it is good practice to turn any mattress every 3 months. Do Naturalmat mattresses pass the British safety standards? Yes, of course. Safety is of paramount importance to us. Natural Mat mattresses not only pass all the required British safety standards (BS EN597, BS 7177, BS 1877 Part 10) but they are one of the only UK manufacturers to do so without using any chemical fire retardants. |

Dust mites are killed at 57° and as every mattress has a removable pure cotton cover which can be machine washed at 60°, those pesky dust mites don’t stand a chance. The core of this mattress is made from Organic Coir (coconut fibre) which is naturally springy and supportive. The mattress is extremely breathable with excellent ventilation and insulation. A breathable mattress is essential for babies as they cannot easily regulate their own body temperature. A poorly ventilated mattress may cause their temperature to go up and down quickly creating discomfort and waking them up. The natural fibres we use are inherently breathable and self ventilating, allowing a constant circulation of air around the mattress. This helps your baby regulate their temperature so they remain cool and comfortable through the night. No waking up and no tears. Our mattresses have naturally sprung cores which provide a far superior and longer lasting level of support than any other synthetic foam or spring. It is important to us that our mattresses support your child’s body and pressure points during the most vital growth and development phases of their lives. |
