From 24 weeks, your baby has a chance of surviving outside of the womb should it be born now. That being said, the longer you can keep that bun in the oven, the healthier and plumper that bun will be. Premature birth comes with increased risks of disability and health complications.

If you have been considered someone who is at risk of gestational diabetes, you will be given an oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT). This will take about 2 hours and involves a fasted blood test first thing in the morning, and then you will be given a glucose drink. After resting for 2 hours, you will have another blood test to check how your body has dealt with the glucose.
