25 Weeks Pregnant

A bum deal

Your baby is as big as a cauliflower!

By now, you're pretty well accustomed with the uncomfortable, painful and downright gross symptoms that pregnancy is throwing your way. The new joys you'll experience in the coming weeks are no exception. Around this mark, you'll probably experience haemorrhoids (commonly known as piles), which is the swelling of the veins in the rectum. These can be incredibly uncomfortable, and can cause bleeding when you poo.

Haemorrhoids can be aggravated by constipation, so here's some tips to help prevent these pesky piles; keeping hydrated, eating a diet rich in fibre, trying not to strain when you poo, and keeping up your Kegel exercises (we're sure you have been anyway, but if you need a refresher pop back to week 14's blog post).

If you are taking maternity leave from work, you are legally obligated to inform your employer at least 15 weeks before your due date, which is now! So if you haven't already, that's your priority for the week. Another thing to think about is that you are able to take your maternity leave any time from 26 weeks.

15 weeks to go!
