A case of the clumsies

Your baby is the size of a butternut squash!
Over the next few weeks your baby, if it hasn't already, should be moving around so its head is facing downwards already. This should be done by week 38, and your baby will be ready to go. When this happens you may notice that the baby has 'dropped' and you go from 'carrying high' to 'carrying low'.
You might be finding that your belly is feeling really itchy, and getting itchier. This is a result of your swelling belly stretching the skin and drying it out. If creams and moisturizers don't help, try calamine lotion or adding oatmeal to your bath and soak in warm (not hot) water.
With your baby growing so fast, there's increasingly less room in your abdomen. It's likely that because of this, your appetite is waning and you really don't have the space to eat a proper meal. Try to eat small, regular snacks to keep your energy levels up.
You may have noticed that you are a lot clumsier than pre-pregnancy. This can be caused by a few different factors. Firstly, you are carrying a lot more weight on your front now, and this can throw your centre of gravity. Your pesky hormones are also playing their part in this matter, loosening your joints and ligaments, making you grasp weaker. Not to mention, you're exhausted from your baby's midnight somersaults, thanks baby! To top it all off, the baby brain makes you forget where you put everything, meaning you're rushing around everywhere.
Just take a breath and take it slow. Nobody minds you being late when you're pregnant - enjoy the free pass!
