Reuse and Recycle
As new parents it can be so easy to get caught up in the excitement of all the new gadgets and gizmos that everyone insists you MUST get for your little one. These things often get used for a few months, or even weeks, before your ever growing bundle of joy grows out of it. It can then end up sat in a corner, in the attic, in the garage, or even in landfill.
A more sustainable option is buying 'pre-loved' – social media is full of people selling slightly used items that have been grown out of, in great condition, at a fraction of its original cost.
Another option is borrowing and lending between other parents and friends. Borrowing big items such as prams, cots, Moses baskets could save you a fortune in short lived items, and give the item a lot more use.
