By choosing organic goods from beaming baby, you have helped us convert several suppliers to organic. Organic products have a far smaller carbon footprint than conventional ones, mainly because they don’t use chemical fertilisers. Chemical fertilisers have the biggest carbon impact in agricultural production.

We are working with the Carbon Trust and Envision South West to understand and reduce our carbon footprint.
carbon saving starts at home
We’re taking a close look at our office and warehouse in Devon. We use low energy lighting and heating systems. The electricity we use comes from wind, solar or hydroelectric sources. Our parcels are packaged using recycled cardboard boxes or brown paper sacks wherever possible.
We are still analysing everything we do to find ways to further reduce our carbon impact in the office and warehouse.

We are working with each of our suppliers to encourage them to use green electricity, packaging and materials from sustainable sources and to commit to targets for reducing their own carbon footprint.

The Carbon Trust methodology is helping us to understand the carbon emissions of each of our bestselling products - our organic skincare baby wipes for example - we’re looking at every stage, from growing the organic aloe vera, blending the lotion and making the baby wipe material, through to disposal of the empty packet. This will show us what we need to change to reduce our carbon footprint further.
reforestation in the developing world
We will continue to work hard to minimise our carbon emissions and in addition we will sponsor reforestation projects in the developing world. This will offset our carbon footprint by 100% by 2020.
